    Education, Training, and Work Experience

    I received my Master’s Degree in Psychology in 1982. I continued to pursue my Doctorate, which I completed in 1994. I originally practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Since 1997, I have been licensed as a psychologist in the state of Texas. I have practiced in Coppell since 1989 and in Irving since 1988.

    In my training and work experience, I have worked at the following agencies:

    My APA internship was in the special education department of the Dallas Public Schools. I am an expert in child abuse and neglect, and worked for three years at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. I testified extensively in court as an expert in these cases.

    Speaking/Training Experience

    I became a speaker at numerous national conferences on issues related to children. I have spoken for four years at the National Crimes Against Children’s Conference. I was a speaker at the National Symposium on Child Sexual Abuse. I was also a trainer for the Southeast Region Children’s Advocacy Center.

    Non-profit and community agencies

    I was the Administrator of Catholic Charities of Dallas, Catholic Counseling Services. I managed their Adoption Agency, Counseling Services, Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Program, and Adolescent Drug and Alcohol program. My experience in both non-profit and community agencies allowed me to work with a wide variety of issues pertaining to children, adolescents and their families.

    My Current Practice

    My practice currently is private. I am past president of the Dallas Psychological Association. I am a member of the Texas Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. I stay involved in community activities and professional issues.

    I occasionally provide expert testimony in court. If you are involved in a legal case and need my services, please contact me so that we can discuss your particular case. I also work with military families and have been involved in pre and post deployment debriefings with returning soldiers and their families.
